The Walking Group meets on the second Tuesday of the month. Details of the walks are shown in the U3A monthly Newsletter.
The Walks generally are within a 10 mile radius of Ashton and are approximately 5 miles long, taken at a leisurely pace and last between 2 to 2.5 hours.
Walks in 2019 included Borsdane Wood, Worthington Lakes, Crooke, Glazebury and the Sankey Valley

The next walk is on the 17th August 2021 i.e on this occasion the 3rd Tuesday
Meeting point is the car park behind the Ship Inn, Blackbrook, WA11OAB. The circular walk takes us once again beside the St Helens Canal and the Blackbrook but heading towards Newton le Willows. There are no stiles but some inclines. The footpaths are good but in places may be muddy and the undergrowth may be high in places. No toilets or refreshment stops before or during the walk. Distance is 5 miles approximately. and could take between 2 to 2.5 hours. Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear.
